Chanting the below Maha Mantra is very auspicious:

Be Devoted to God only

In "Bhagwat Gita", Lord Krishna Says that if a person is devoted to God only then God rescues that person from ocean of Birth & Death i.e. that man becomes eligible for permanent life beyond death forever with God.

As per ( Gita: Chapter XII verse 8 ) God says that:

" Fix Your mind on Me ( God) and establish your reasoning in Me ( God) alone; thereafter doing so you shall abide in Me ( God) only. There is no doubt about it. "

So as per assurance given by God in Gita, Lets all be devotees of God only & let's pray for Him ( God) daily.

Dive in the omnipresence of your self

Just Close your eyes & think of yourself as the omnipresent soul. Just like the space is all pervasive, in the similar manner think of the all pervasive, omnipresent nature of your self /soul. In this way you shall go away from the narrow bodily feeling of yourself as one point body in space & shall feel the greatness of soul which is all pervading in the universe.

As per Gita, think yourself to be that soul which is beyond this body, which is unthinkable, imperishable, ineffable, eternal, all pervading, immobile, unmanifest & immutable. In fact your nature is also that only which is also called Brahma.

Qualities of People of 'Demoniac Nature'

In "Bhagwat Gita", Lord Krishna tells about in detail the people of demoniac nature who are born in this world to cause pain to others & are the cause of destruction of this world. Just go through the qualities of the people of demoniac / bad nature & reflect, whether there are any such qualities present in yourself. If you find any such qualities in you, just try to weed these out of your nature, as otherwise, these shall lead to your fall only, morally & spiritually.

As per the Lord in ( Gita: Chapter XVI verse 7 to 20 ) God says that:

" Men belonging to the demoniac group know not what is right activity & what right cessation of activity. Hence they posses neither purity ( internal & external), nor good conduct nor truth." - Bhagwat Gita: Chapter XVI verse-7

"They say: The world is without any foundation & altogether false, Godless & brought about by mutual union ( of man & woman); what else?"- Bhagwat Gita: Chapter XVI verse-8

"Embracing this view, these lost souls with little understanding, ill disposed & devoted to cruel actions, are born for the destruction of the world."- Bhagwat Gita: Chapter XVI verse-9

"Possessed of hypocrisy, conceit & arrogance & given to insatiable passion, and adopting false doctrines due to delusion, they take to action with impure vows."- Bhagwat Gita: Chapter XVI verse-10

"Giving themselves over to endless cares terminating only with death, and given to the enjoyment of sensuous pleasures, they believe the highest limit of joy to consist only in this."
"Held in bondage by a hundred ties of expectation, given over to passion & anger, they strive to obtain by unlawful means hoards of money for the enjoyment of sensuous pleasures."-
Bhagwat Gita: Chapter XVI verse 11-12

"This has been won by me today; that ambition I shall realize now; this wealth is mine already; that will be mine again"
"This enemy has been already disposed of by me, and I shall make short work of others also. I am the lord, I am the enjoyer. I am perfect, powerful & happy.
"I am wealthy, and high-born. who else is like unto me? I shall perform sacrifices, give alms & rejoice. Thus deluded by ignorance, bewildered by numerous thoughts, enmeshed of the web of delusion & addiced of the enjoyment of sensuous pleasures, men of demoniacal nature fall into the foulest hell."- Bhagwat Gita: Chapter XVI - verse 13,14,15 & Bhagwat Gita: Chapter XVI - verse 16

"Self-important, unbending, filled with the intoxication of wealth & honor, performing nominal sacrifices for show & contrary to scriptural ordinance."- Bhagwat Gita: Chapter XVI verse-17
"Given over to egoism, violence, insolence, passion & anger, these malicious persons hate Me ( God) that dwell in the bodies of others, as well, as in their own body."- Bhagwat Gita: Chapter XVI verse-18

"These haters, evil, cruel, & vilest among men, I ( God) repeatedly throw into demoniacal wombs in this world."- Bhagwat Gita: Chapter XVI verse -19

"Arjuna, cast into demoniacal wombs, birth after birth, these fools, attaining not to Me ( God), sink into still lower depths."- Bhagwat Gita: Chapter XVI verse-20

So above are the demoniacal qualities of bad people as defined per the "Bhagwat Gita" in this world & we should abstain from all such qualities.

Lord, Fill the Cup of my life

'Ah, my Beloved, fill the Cup that clears
To-day of past Regrets and future Fears--
To-morrow?--Why, To-morrow I may be
Myself with Yesterday's Sev'n Thousand Years.

'Omar Khayyam'

Above few lines of the Persian Poet, 'Omar Khayyam' can be interpreted in the philosophical sense as:

Oh, my Lord , fill my consciousness with bliss, ecstasy & Your love, so that ignorance flees away from my life. Only your love can dispel my past regrets & also the fear of future wrongs, whose consequence shall be sorrow & misfortune only. O Lord, I cannot wait until tomorrow to wait for your grace to happen on me, as tomorrow can be like infinite past only, when I died so many times without knowing you. I want you to Fill the Cup of my Life, today only, with your love & devotion. I don't want to die, time & again in future, as I have done in the past. I know you shall come to my rescue & fill my Soul with your Love.

Let's Work for God only

Below are verses from "Bhagwat Gita-Chapter Twelve- Verse - 6-7", in which God is asking his disciple Arjuna to do all his actions / activities for Him only. The below verses are firstly, written in, as it is written in original Sanskrit in Bhagwat Gita & below that is English translation of that verse.

' Ye tu srvani krmani
myi sanyasya mat-para
anany-naiv yogen
maam dhyayant upasate '
' Tesham-aham samud-dharta
mrityu-sansar-saagrat
bhavami na-chirat parth
mayy-avesita-chetsam ' ( Bhagwat Gita: Chapter XII verse 6-7 )

'Those people, who worship Me by surrendering all their activities unto Me, are always devoted to Me, always meditate upon Me, Having always fixing their minds upon Me, O Parth - to them, I swiftly rescue from the ocean of birth and death.'

Through above verse 6 & 7, God is telling 'Parth' (another name of Arjuna, his disciple), that those people who work for God only & offer all their activities & work to Him only, to such a Soul He shows great mercy, always protects him & finally rescues him during & after death.

Now, how we can work for God only? This whole world is the creation of God only & knowingly, unknowingly, we all are working for the maintenance of this world only. Just introspect & see that, whatever, work or job (good one), you are doing in this world, it is helping in someway or the other in maintaining & sustaining this world. Just take it in that sense, that if all the people of the earth stop doing their daily work, duties, this whole world shall come to a standstill. In that case nobody shall grow food, vegetables, fruits & other things which sustain our life & hence we shall all die. Same is the case with other professions & each person is adding value to this world by doing his/her duty.

Now, though we do duty to sustain this world only but we don't realize that. As this world is a creation of God, so we should work for Him only. If we develop this sense that we are working selflessly to sustain this world created by God only, then also we shall develop an affinity towards God. In the above verses, God is making very clear that if a person offers all his work & activities to God, thinking this world to be a creation of God only, then also He shall be happy with that person & shall protect & shall deliver that person from the cycles of birth & death. By working for God, we shall attain peace & shall attain His love & devotion. So Let's all Work for God only.

God Assures you that He shall protect you

In Bhagwat Gita, God assures his disciple Arjuna in many ways & asks him to take refuge in Him & says that He shall emancipate him of sin in all ways, shall rescue him in his life always. Through Arjuna, God is giving a message to all people that they should be devoted to Him, as through devotion, they shall reach Him easily. Below are verses of Bhagwat Gita where God assures Arjuna through these verses. Firstly, it is written, as it is written in original Sanskrit in Bhagwat Gita & below that is English translation of that verse.

'Api chet su-duracharo
bhajate maam ananya-bhak
sadhurev sa mantavya
samyag vyvasito hi sah' ( Gita: Chapter IX verse 30 )

'Even if the vilest sinner worships Me with full devotion, he should be considered a noble soul or saint; as he has taken the right step by worshipping me.'

Through above verse 30, God is telling Arjuna that even if the most sinful of person worships Him with full devotion, then He considers him to be a saint only as he has rightly resolved in his life. So many times we too think that we have done many sins in life & how God shall accept us, but here God makes very clear that once a person become devoted to Him, He does not considers that person a sinner, rather God considers that person to be a Saint as he has taken the right decision in his life to become devoted to God. Let's all be devotees of God.

'kshipram bhavti dharmatma
shasvac-chantim nigachati
kauntey pratijanihi
na me bhaktah pranashyati' ( Gita: Chapter IX verse 31 )


'He speedily becomes virtuous and secures lasting peace. O son of Kunti, know it for certain that My devotee never falls.'

Through above verse 31, God is telling Arjuna that such a sinful person after becoming His devotee becomes a person of good virtues and always remain in peace & such a peace is not temporary but is ever lasting. God is assuring the son of Kunti ( another name of Arjuna, his disciple) that his devotee never falls again in life as He always protect him. So let's all worship the God always so that He can protect us always.

'man-mna bhav mad-bhakto
madhyaji maam namaskuru
maam-evaishyasi yuktvaivam
atmanam mat-parayanah' ( Gita: Chapter IX verse 34 )

'Fix your mind on Me, be devoted to me, worship Me & offer obeisance's to Me. In this way, linking to Me, you shall surely come to Me.'



Through above verse 34, God is asking Arjuna to fix his mind on God as after worshipping Him & paying obeisance's to God, he shall automatically come to Him. We should also follow the same path & let's become devoted to him by praying Him daily. God is very clear that once a person comes in God's refuge, then all his problems are solved & God becomes his protector in this life & life beyond.

Let's not be egoistic

'Indeed the Idols I have loved so long
Have done my Credit in Men's Eye much wrong:
Have drown'd my Honour in a shallow Cup,
And sold my Reputation for a song.'

'Omar Khayyam'

Above few lines of the Persian Poet, 'Omar Khayyam' can be interpreted in philosophical sense as:

Human beings generally crave for Name, Fame, Sense pleasures etc. which satisfies one's ego & these are the Idols in one life which a person adores very much. But these Idols do not do any good to one self as it obscures one's real 'Soul nature', which is divine with unlimited powers & is always blissful. Such craving for Name, Fame & Sense pleasures drowns one's self respect & obscures the divine from our sight. These worthless temptations destroys one's reputation & always gives delusion by which a person is not able to know his Divine Self.

So Let's not be egoistic as it shall not do any good to one self. Let's surrender our ego in the Divine feet of the God & adore Him only so that He can give us a blissful life.

Life is not permanent on earth

'Lo! some we loved, the loveliest and the best
That time and fate of all their Vintage prest,
Have drunk their Cup a Round or two before,
And one by one crept silently to Rest. '

We all become so much involved & busy in our life on this earth that we all forget that one day we all have to leave this earth, leave this body. Our Life is not permanent on this earth & it is for a limited period of time after which it shall pass away. Life is aptly described in above few lines of the Persian Poet, 'Omar Khayyam' :

Lo, here were all those our near & dear one's, whom we loved the most & are gone now. Wine of life that used to flow through their mortal body has gone. Time & fate ( karmic law of cause & effect) has acted in their case & after drinking a Cup or two (of life), they have departed from this earth & have died a short or long before us. So shall be the fate of our self also & we shall too some day depart after drinking a Cup or two. So instead of letting time & fate rule our destiny & lead us to death, why not let God immortalize us. So let's pray to God daily, know Him daily so that God can bless us with the immortality.

What is immortality?

Basis of Hindu philosophy in 'Bhagwat Gita' is that one who is born, shall die one day & whosoever, dies shall be reborn again certainly. The embodied soul in this body is immortal. As per 'Bhagwat Gita-Chapter Two Verse - 23', It cannot be cut with any weapon, fire cannot burn it, it is impervious to water & it cannot drench it & neither air can dry this soul. As soul is beyond this visible nature elements of fire, water, air, earth etc. so these nature elements cannot cause any damage to the immortal soul.

If a person becomes firm in that belief only that soul inside his body is immortal, then too he attains immortality as then that person goes beyond the visible nature which has formed this visible body of ours.

Now what is immortality? This soul of ours wears this body made of nature elements. After karmic cycle, depending on the Karmas of our previous life, soul drops this body at death & takes on another body based on the Karmas of our present life. Again we do Karmas in our next birth & that becomes the basis of our further next birth for this soul. So this cycle of wearing different bodies goes on for this soul. As we all feel pleasure & pain in one's life, so can't it be possible that we can avoid this pain that we feel in our body.

As per 'Bhagwat Gita-Chapter Eighteen Verse - 55', when we go to a perpetual divine life, which is beyond this nature, which forms this body then that life is beyond all this pain & is a blissful life. To attain that we have to establish our self in our soul. As God is the Supreme Soul from whom all these souls have emanated, so worshipping him constantly, one shall be established in the soul & shall attain a blissful life.

Is there Life after death?

We all know that this body of ours shall perish or die in future. But is there life after death also? Can we survive after death also? Are we different from this body & shall we survive death? Yes, as per 'Bhagwat Gita', it's so. As per 'Bhagwat Gita', we in essence are different than this body & we in essence are that indestructible 'Soul' & this 'Soul' is there in our body even when we are living right now. As per 'Bhagwat Gita -Chapter Two Verse - 22', our body is like our clothes that we wear on our body & after death these worn out clothes are dropped by the embodied soul . You in essence are a 'Soul' & this 'Soul' of yours shall wear another body ( read, shall wear another pair of clothes) after death. So this eternal Soul which is indestructible, changes its present embodied form for another embodied form, when the physical body perishes.

As per 'Bhagwat Gita-Chapter Two Verse - 20', eternal soul was there always & was there even before this 'World creation'. This soul is never born nor does it die ever. It is an indestructible substance. So if we have a firm belief that we are that eternal Soul which never dies then we shall also feel to be someone beyond this body & fear of death shall go away from our mind as then we shall know that we have life even after the death. Yes, we all are that immortal Soul & shall never die. Have firm faith in these words & all your fears of death shall go away in thin air.

What 'Bhagwat Gita' is all about?

If anyone tells you that you do not know yourself, your immediate reaction shall be , what? what are you talking?, I am so & so & who else can know more about myself? May be what you are saying is true but fact is that we do not know ourselves. In this context, if someone asks you, where you were before death or where you shall go after death, your answer can be either, 'you do not know' or you shall say , 'I neither existed before death or shall exist after death, whatever, I am , I am here during this existence of mine on this earth only'. Again , you may be right or you may be wrong.

How to decide about the truth about all such matters? In Hindu religion, 'Bhagwat Gita' is one of the most sacred books of Hindus. It teaches people about all such matters in detail. Not only that, it teaches , how one should lead one's day to day life on earth. All men , irrespective of caste & creed possess the right to study the 'Bhagwat Gita' & know one self. It contains many paths of knowledge & philosophies. In this blog we shall try to go through those philosophies by understanding the different verses in different chapters of 'Bhagwat Gita', which describe in detail about all such philosophies. It shall be an interesting journey to go through it & how it shall relate to our day to day life.
