Oh God, Give us Strength of Mind

Soul strength, Mental strength or Personal Strength which comes into action in our hard times to defeat all such negative symptoms of sadness, depression etc. in one's life is our inner strength. In hard times it helps in building our low esteem and loss of confidence. When we are passing through bad times, we have a feeling of self dejection & a feeling that we will not succeed in life. In all such times only, our Inner Strength comes into play.

Here below is a beautiful Bhazan regarding this strength of Mind:

Oh God, Give us strength of Mind , Give victory to our minds
Before we cheer the victory of others, make ourselves victorious.
(spiritual meaning could be let us gain the victory over our mind)

Let our hearts be free from any kind of discrimination.
Let our hearts and mind be always be ready for forgiveness.
Let us be saved from the lies and untruth and let the truth prevail

If we find ourselves in Difficulties, please do this much,
We don't forget the sacred and be with the sacred,
Confidence on the self remains and we do not fear the evil.

When Mind & Heart Find Peace in God

We daily face myriads of problems in life that our mind gets disturbed, tense & do not find peace anywhere. In such a situation what should we do? Simple & easiest solution in such a situation is to take refuge in God. Just remember Him with Love & see, your mind shall become peaceful. Here is how a devotee describes such a situation when he comes in refuge of God. He says:

Oh! Lord: Just like a person wandering in the scorching heat of sun, gets peace, after coming under the shade of a tree, the same pleasure my heart has got from, when I came in Your refuge. O my Lord, My mind was always wavering; It was not getting any support & it was just like a boat struggling with waves, not finding the bank of the river. But with your guidance that unsteady & wavering boat of my mind has come to the bank. Oh! God, such a pleasure my heart has got from when I came in Your refuge,

Oh! Lord: When you shower your blessings, fire becomes cool like sandalwood. With your blessings, pitch dark nights glow like full moon nights. Oh! God, as if a desert, thirsty for centuries, gets the message of rainy season, the same pleasure my heart has got from; when I came in Your refuge

Oh! Lord: That path on which one may find You, let me take steps on that, whether it is a path of thorns or flowers, whether that path is dry or wet with the rain. Let me never waver while moving on that path. O Lord, as if somebody is thirsty of water & is fed Nectar, the same pleasure my heart has got from; when I came in Your refuge.

The above lines are basically the English translation of a beautiful Hindi Bhajan. "Suraj Ki Garmi Se Jalte Huay Tan Ko Mil Jaye Taruvar Ki Chhaya" is a great Devotional prayer sung in the praise of Hindu God Rama. It has been sung by "Sharma Bandhus" & they earlier sung it for the Hindi film 'Parinay' which was the first and last playback song of the group. Here below is the video of that bhajan & also below are it's lyrics.

Lyrics: "Suraj Ki Garmi Se Jalte Huay Tan Ko" - Lord Rama Prayer

Aisa hi sukh mere mann ko mila hai

(Bhatka hua mera mann tha koi
Mil na raha tha sahaara) - 2
Laheron se ladti hui naav ko - 2
Jaise mil na raha ho kinaara
Mil na raha ho kinaara
Us ladkhadaati hui naav ko jo
Kisi ne kinaara dikhaaya
Aisa hi sukh mere mann ko mila hai

Aisa hi sukh mere mann ko mila hai

Us par kadam main badhaaoon) - 2
(Phoolon mein khaaron mein patjhad bahaaron mein
Main na kabhi dagmagaaoon) - 2
Main na kabhi dagmagaaoon
(Paani ke pyaase ko taqdeer ne jaise
Jee bhar ke amrit pilaaya) - 2
Aisa hi sukh mere mann ko mila hai

Aisa hi sukh mere mann ko mila hai

God is yours, so devote yourself to Him

Who is dear to God? One who is devoted to God is dear to God. Sri Radharani was a Gopi who was most near to Lord Krishna’s heart. Sri Radharani's devotion and dedication towards Lord Sri Krishna was complete that is the reason that she was most dear to Lord Krishna. Sri Radharani was always full of devotion towards the Sri Krishna & never thought of anyone besides Lord Krishna.

Similarly if our devotion towards the God is complete then there is no reason that God shall not be with you. God says in Bhagwat Gita:

"ananya-cetah satatam
yo mam smarati nityasah
tasyaham sulabhah partha
nitya-yuktasya yoginah" (Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Eight verse 14)

"Lord Sri Krishna says: Whosoever, always & constantly remembers Me with undivided mind; by that person, I am easy to obtain, O Arjuna, because of his constant engagement in the devotional service to Me."

O
ther than devotion towards the God, let's chant Lord's name as God is always present in His name. Chanting Lord's name is the biggest sacrifice as described by Bhagwat Gita & it purifies oneself:

"maharsinam bhrgur aham
giram asmy ekam aksharam
yajnanam japa-yajno ’smi
sthavaranam himalayah" (Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Ten verse 25)
"Sri Krishna said: Of the great sages I am Bhrigu; of vibrations I am the transcendental Om. Of sacrifices I am the chanting of the holy names [Japa], and of immovable things I am the Himalayas."
Below is a beautiful video "Hari Bhazan" which too says that we should be devoted to God as God is ours only. Enjoy the beautiful Bhazan.

Radhe....Radhe....Radhe....Radhe....

Radhe.... Radhe....Radhe.... Radhe....is a beautiful chant sung in the praise of Goddess Radha Rani, the true devotee of Lord Krishna. In this devotional video the singer "Sh. Vinod Aggawal Ji" & "Sh. Balram Krishan Ji" are showing their divine love to Sri Radha Rani .

Sri Radha Rani is the greatest devotee of Lord Shri Krishna. It is said that Sri Radha is herself the "Devotional energy" of Lord Shri Krishna who is the Lord of the universe. Her name always comes before the name of Lord Krishna that is why God's one name is "Radha Krishna" also. Just take out only one "R" from "Radha Krishna" & it becomes just "half Krishna" & that is the power of the name "Radha".

"Shyama" is another name of Shri Radha.

"Meri bhav badha haro, Radha nagari soey,
Ja tan ki jhaien parat, Shyam Harit duti hoey."

Hey, Goddess Shri Radha, You take care of my life of all troubles, Who's body shadow is enough to make Lord Krishna happy.

God - Take Me In Your Refuge

Once a new born cub of a Lion was moving in the forest when he heard the howling sounds of other animals in the forest. On hearing these sounds, the little cub was frightened & rushed back to the Lion & Lioness. In the refuge of Lion & Lioness he felt comfortable as they were to protect him from any attack from other animals & both his parents were his protector in any eventuality. Similarly, when we are living in this world, whom we should consider our protector; who can take care of us & protect us from any eventuality in our life.

God is an invisible force who is present all around us. He looks after & takes care of the whole of this world. He is the witness of all our good & bad actions. As per Bhagwad-Gita, as the wind is pervasive all around us in the space; so is God or Universal Soul is present all around us. Now if we believe in Him & invoke Him by prayers then He shall certainly come to our rescue, as He always comes to the rescue of His devotees. So just like the lion cub, if we take shelter in the Almighty, then He shall certainly protect us in all circumstances.

God Himself declares in Bhagwad-Gita that, whosoever, comes in His refuge, He protects him fully.

"sarva-dharman parityajya
mam ekam saranam vraja
aham tvam sarva-papebhyo
mokshayisyami ma suchah" (Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Eighteen verse 66)

"Sri Krishna said: O Arjuna, Leaving all religions, just come unto Me /surrender unto Me alone. By surrendering unto Me, I shall absolve you of all sins & always protect you, grieve not."

"man-mana bhava mad-bhakto
mad-yaji mam namaskuru
mam evaishyasi satyam te
pratijane priyo ’si me" (Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Eighteen verse 65)

"Lord Sri Krishna said: O Arjuna, Always think of Me, become be My devotee, worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My devotee."

Below is a beautiful Video with the underlying Bhazan "Mujhe Apni Sharan Mein Le Lo Mere Shyam" ie. "God - Take Me In Your Refuge". In this devotional video the singer "Sh. Vinod Aggawal Ji" is just invoking the Lord Sri Krishna to take him in His refuge. It is basically a more than one hour long Bhazan, sung by "Sh. Vinod Aggawal Ji" but here due to "You Tube" time limitation for a video, I have made a video of 10 minutes out of that Bhazan. Hope you would like it.
