Lord Ganesha is "Ganpati Bappa Morya". He is son of Lord Shiva & Goddess Durga. He is "Vighnharta", God who removes all obstacles in one's life, that's why he is worshipped before starting any new work so that said work progresses smoothly. I love this. Ganesh is my sweet one. i came back from India last March with a beautiful bronze statue, small but very heavy of beloved Ganesh.
Also I have many stickers with hindu gods. My car looks like a indian rickshaw, to remind me of the impermanency of life. And of course to pray.
